Victor Germeshuizen is a Principal and Head of Hard Currency Bonds in Absa’s Debt Capital Markets team. He has over 16 years of capital markets experience, with a focus on Emerging Markets. He has worked on bond issuance, liability management and debt funding across the African continent, having lead deals for Sovereigns such as South Africa’s National Treasury, Quasi-sovereigns such as Transnet, Supranationals such as Afreximbank, Financial Institutions including Absa, FirstRand, and Access Bank, and Corporates including Sibanye, FQM, and MTN. He is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Bachelors in Commerce (Economics and Econometrics). Prior to joining Absa in 2021 he worked at HSBC for 10 year and Standard Bank for 4 years. He holds continuing dialogue with a number of African sovereigns and state-owned entities, discussing both local currency and international capital market solutions.
