Nik Dhanani is a Managing Director who heads the Global Strategic Solutions Group (SSG) within HSBC’s Capital Financing & Investment Banking Coverage division. The SSG group is responsible for Financial Institutions Capital, ESG Solutions and Corporate Finance & Ratings Advisory. Having started his career at Salomon Brothers, Nik has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry, the majority of which was focussed on advising clients on capital issuance strategy but also included experience as trader within the international credit markets. He has been involved in the development of the hybrid capital market since 1999, through to the latest generation of capital instruments (including TLAC/MREL) for banks (under Basel III) as well as insurers (under Solvency II).
