Biography

Mr. Tufan joined Akbank in September 2020 as Head of International Banking and Institutional Clients Division. Under this role, he is responsible for financial institutions, wholesale funding and institutional clients. His responsibilities also structuring and executing sustainable wholesale funding transactions in order to meet Akbank’s ambitions in this area.

Previously, he was Director of Financial Institutions and Public Sector at Garanti BBVA where he started his career in 2004.

He is a graduate of Management from Bilkent University, Ankara. He holds a Master’s degree in International Economics and Management from University of Bocconi, Milan and is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.
