Sanaa joined Standard Chartered Bank in 2009 and is currently Head of Loan Syndicate Africa, based in Dubai, with the primary responsibility of leading the loan syndicate and distribution business for borrowers across Sub Saharan Africa.
Sanaa has worked extensively with SSA clients including sovereigns, SOEs , FIs, multilaterals, and corporate clients ,to structure and distribute landmark syndicated loan transactions. This includes structured finance, project finance, and multilateral / ECA guaranteed loans for several SSA borrowers.
She has about 20 years of industry experience across Sub Saharan Africa, MENA, Pakistan and the U.S. She previously worked with the MENAP Capital Markets team covering origination and execution of loan syndications and debt capital markets issuances for MENA and Pakistan clients across sectors.
Prior to Standard Chartered, Sanaa was Vice President, Investment Banking and Principal Investments at KASB Capital Limited (partners of Bank of America Merrill Lynch) in Pakistan, and worked on landmark transactions in privatization, mergers and acquisitions, and ECM.
Sanaa holds a B.A. in Economics and Computer Science (High Honors) from Mount Holyoke College, U.S.A.
