Biography

Nganga Njiinu, CFA – CEO, TransCentury PLC

Nganga Njiinu is the Chief Executive Officer of TransCentury Group, a Kenya headquartered investment company with an infrastructure focus and a track record for delivering unique investment opportunities. The Group has 8 businesses across 12 countries in East, Central and Southern Africa. Njiinu has held various key roles in the Group including corporate finance, portfolio management, business development as well as originating and developing opportunities in the infrastructure space. Recently, Njiinu led the Group through a significant debt restructure process which saw the restructuring and repositioning of over USD 100m, culminating in a 30% reduction of debt, extension of tenure and additional working capital lines. In addition, Njiinu has had deep experience in developing infrastructure projects in the areas of mining, energy, rail and roads.

Prior to joining TransCentury in 2008, Njiinu worked for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the USA, where he oversaw strategic initiatives, financial planning and analysis as well as evaluation and integration of acquisitions. Believing in the African story, Njiinu chose to come back home and contribute towards the wave of growth in Africa.

Njiinu holds an MBA in Finance and Investment Management from the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas and a Bachelor of Science in International Business from United States International University, he is also a CFA charter holder.
