Jean Paul Farah Chajín

Biography

Jean Paul Farah joined the firm in 1994 and became a partner in 2003. He has more than 25 years of recognized experience representing leading international banks and export credit agencies in financings, refinancings and restructurings for numerous private and public sector entities in the energy, telecommunications, consumer, real estate and housing sectors, among others. His M&A practice involves representing private equity firms in their equity and mezzanine investments in Mexico. He has participated in a wide array of financing transactions involving CFE, PEMEX, Fibra Uno, Grupo Gigante and Prumex, as well as in several project financings including Ramones Sur, Ramones Norte and GICSA. He has been highlighted by transactions such as the refinancing of PEMEX’s debt.

Jean Paul graduated from the Universidad Panamericana School of Law (1993) and obtained a Master in Laws in Securities and Banking Law from Columbia University (1997). In 1998 he worked as a foreign associate in Sherman & Stearling in New York, and in 1997 in Uria Mendez in Madrid.
