Biography

Carlos Kawall is the Chief Economist for Banco Safra since February 2011.

His prior experience, both in the private sector and in the government, includes being Secretary of the National Treasury, CFO at BNDES, CFO at BMFBovespa and Chief-Economist for Brazil at Citigroup (for 8 years). He graduated in Economics from FEA-USP and has a PHD in Economics from Unicamp, Brazil.

He is a Professor of Economics at the Getulio Vargas Foundation, in Sao Paulo (FGV/SP).
